Outrch — cold emails with AI on your computer: PROWEB case study

Cold emails still win clients — as long as the email reads like it was written for a person, not blasted by a mailing service. Yet almost every outreach platform works the same way: upload your contact base to our server, pay for the volume, and hope the database doesn't leak and your domain doesn't land in spam.

At PROWEB we built Outrch (outrch.pro) — a desktop app for establishing first contact. Clients, templates, emails and AI run on the user's computer; the server only holds your account, license and billing. Emails are sent from your own mailbox via your own SMTP.

Who it's for: studios, freelancers and small teams that reach out to clients directly and don't want to hand their contact base to someone else's cloud.

Why another «outreach service» — and why it's an app

Cloud outreach tools expect you to upload your client base: you pay for the volume, share sender reputation with hundreds of other campaigns, and trust that their server won't leak.

A first email is never a hundred-thousand-address campaign anyway. It's a dozen or two emails where understanding who you're writing to matters: every client has their own website, interests and context.

That's why Outrch is an app, not a website. The entire client base, templates, mailboxes and keys live in SQLite on your computer. The server only knows your account, device and billing — it can't leak your database because it simply isn't there.

What's inside the app

  • Clients — import from Excel and CSV, groups, statuses (ready, sent, refused, replied) and custom fields: any extra field becomes a {{x}} placeholder in your email
  • Company — sender details with the same placeholders
  • Templates — HTML emails with placeholders; the text written by AI goes into {{letter_body}}
  • Mail — as many SMTP and IMAP accounts as you need: emails go out from your own addresses, with a configurable pause between sends to stay out of spam
  • AI — multiple model profiles, any OpenAI-compatible API by base URL and key; the key is stored locally
  • Prompts — your own system prompts for client analysis and email text, plus pre-filled ones so you don't start from a blank page
  • Chat — threads with the model right in the app: analyze a client, refine a prompt and bring the result back into your campaign

How the first email happens

  1. Fill in your company, connect a mailbox and an AI profile.
  2. Import clients — with websites and the extra fields that matter to you.
  3. Pick the recipients — the AI analyzes each one and drafts the first email into your template.
  4. Edit the HTML if you feel like it and start the campaign: emails go out with pauses, and statuses update on their own.

Why it works for you

  • The client base stays on your computer — it exists in no cloud, and you share it with no one
  • Emails go out from your mailbox via your SMTP — your domain reputation is yours, not shared with every customer of a service
  • You connect your own model: OpenAI, a local one or any compatible service — and keys never leave the machine
  • The AI sees the client's website and your fields, so the email isn't a template blast
  • The first 25 emails are free, and the trial counter starts with the first successful send, not with registration

What we actually built

This isn't a landing page with a «leave a request» form — it's a complete product: four apps and a shared core.

  • Desktop for macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel), Windows and Linux: local database, outreach, AI and chat
  • Server: accounts, sign-in with an email one-time code, device binding, trial and subscriptions — without a single client contact
  • The outrch.pro website: landing page, checkout, legal documents and installation instructions for every system
  • Account area: profile, license, devices, auto-renewal and refunds
  • Admin panel: users, grants, refunds and signing in as a user for support
  • Payments via YooKassa: monthly or yearly, auto-renewal, refunds proportional to unused days

What it's built with

The desktop app is Electron and Quasar on Vue with a local SQLite database: the UI never touches the system directly, only through an IPC layer. The server is Bun, Elysia and Drizzle on Postgres. The website is Nuxt with SSR; the account area and admin panel are Vue SPAs. A shared UI kit on Tailwind with the shadcn approach, schemas in TypeScript and zod, and the API client is generated from OpenAPI — so there are no hand-written fetches to our own backend in the code. One sign-in for everything: you log in in the browser, and the app picks up the session via a deep link.

In short

Outrch is cold emails with AI where the client base, emails and keys stay on your computer, and the server only sees your account and billing. The first 25 emails are free.
